As we celebrate Weimer Bearing’s 100th anniversary, we reflect on the incredible journey that has shaped who we are today. Starting as a single-location engineering firm, we’ve built a solid foundation through hard work, innovation, and dedication. Over the years, we’ve expanded our reach to 40 locations across 13 states, all while staying true to our commitment to excellence. But this milestone is just the beginning. As we look toward the future, we remain focused on innovation, growth, and continuing to serve our customers with the same passion that has driven us for a century.
Engineering Beginnings (1926)
Founded in 1926 by Hugo Weimer, the company known at that time as H.W. Weimer Co., began as an engineering firm serving industrial manufacturers in the Milwaukee area. From the start, the business emphasized practical problem solving and sound engineering principles to support early power transmission applications. This technical foundation helped establish long-term credibility with customers and partners.
Expanding to Serve Industry
As industrial demand increased, Weimer expanded into the distribution of bearings and power transmission components. This shift allowed the company to support customers with both engineering knowledge and reliable product availability. By broadening into distribution, Weimer strengthened its role as a trusted industrial partner throughout Wisconsin.
Growth Through Generations
Through multiple generations of family leadership, Weimer continued to grow by adding facilities, employees and expanded product offerings. The headquarters was moved to a larger facility in order to better serve our growing customer base with increased inventory and technical expertise. Each generation reinforced a long-term, customer-first mindset while adapting to changing industrial needs. This continuity helped preserve the company’s values while supporting steady expansion.

Today, Weimer remains a privately held, hybrid distributor and manufacturer with more than 40 locations across 13 states. The company supports customers nationwide with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, conveyor belting and material handling solutions. This broad offering allows Weimer to serve as a complete solutions provider to our customers across a wide range of industries and applications.
